Live sporting action is coming thick and fast on KCLR, last night seen Thomastown go up against Glenmore in a thrilling encounter which ended 3-12 each. Friday nights game served up some mouth watering action as All ireland Champs Ballyhale Shamrocks and Tullaroan clashed with St. Mullins taking on Ballinkillen on the other side of the border
James O’Connor, replaced Henry Shefflin at the helm of Ballyhale Shamrocks. O’Connor who led Fr O’Neill’s from Cork last year, where they lost in the All Ireland Intermediate final to Tullaroan.
Ballyhale Shamrocks took the lead early on before Bill Gafney put the ball in the back for Tullaroan after four minutes. Tullaroan were on top for the next few minutes before TJ reid scored a goal to draw level followed by a free that Reid put over the bar to put his side ahead. Both sides went in level at half time at 1-09 each.
Tullaroan roared ahead at start of the second half but just like a flash Shamrocks got back into it, drawing the game with an Eoin Cody point. The game ebbed and flowed between both sides, TJ Reid had a great chance to score only for Paul Buggy saving the day for Tullaroan. Tullaroan started to pill away and in added time they were three points ahead. There was to be a sting in the tail though, as Eoin and TJ Reid joined forces to score a crucial goal to draw Ballyhale level with less then a minute remaining. Ultimately the game ended in a draw 2-18 to 1-21.
