Rory McIlroy carded an eight under 64 in the first round of the BMW Championship on Thursday to take a share of the lead in Baltimore.

Four-time major winner McIlroy currently lies in 28th in the FedEx Cup rankings with only the top 30 going to Atlanta next week.
Former Masters champion Sergio Garcia is one shot off the lead after a bogey-free round of 65, while 18 players carded rounds of 67 or less in the opening round.
Shane Lowry is one-under after a 71 that sees him in a tie for 47th with England’s Lee Westwood.
