James Stephens Secretary Niall Connolly says Erins Own Castlecomer are always tough opponents and that Saturday’s Senior Quarter-Final clash will be a dogged battle.

Speaking to KCLR, Niall says their winning run of five straight victories which secured League success should be taken into perspective….

“I suppose during the League campaign, if you reflect back on it, most of the teams that we played tended to have one or two missing, the likes of Clara and Ballyragget and all those when we played them, they seemed to always a couple of key members of the team missing so while we were winning the games, it’s still hard enough to judge our form”

“The League Final result I suppose would give us a slightly better indication of it so I think any of the games I remember with Castlecomer, they are always tough opponents to beat and very hard to get clear of them so it will be a dogged affair I would imagine at the weekend”
