Elsewhere last night SETU Carlow opened up their Fitzgibbon Cup Campaign with a 2 : 12 to 3 : 19 loss to the University of Galway.
The Carlow goals came from Tomas Keyes and Darragh O’Donovan.

Rory Beggan insists he’s taking part in the NFL’s International Player Pathway with the express intention of gaining an NFL contract.
Along with Down’s Charlie Smyth, Wicklow’s Mark Jackson and ex-Connacht rugby full-back Darragh Leader, they will begin training in Florida this month.
From there they’ll aim to impress scouts at the NFL Combine in March.
All four are trying out as kickers and punters.
Also on the 16-man shortlist is Wales rugby winger, Louis Rees-Zammit.

Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has joined Dutch giants Ajax.
The England midfielder ended his 6-month spell in the Saudi Pro League with Al-Ettifaq by agreeing a 2-and-a-half-year contract with the Amsterdam team.
Henderson said on social media that the decision to move was best for himself and his family.
Jordan Henderson may have departed Al-Ettifaq but his now-former manager Steven Gerrard has extended his contract at the club.
The Liverpool legend has agreed on a new deal that will take him to 2027 having joined the Saudi team last summer.
It was reported that Gerrard was one of the best-paid managers in the world with a salary of about 15 million pounds a year.
There are two games in the Nationalist Premier Division in Carlow tonight.
