Carlow senior football manager Niall Carew was full of praise for Palatine after they achieved their first success in Leinster with their victory over Wicklows St. Patricks.

They now go up against Portarlington in the next round, and speaking to scoreline at the launch of Carlows Gaelic Bingo, Niall was happy with the direction Carlow football is going.

We have just the one live game this weekend of KCLR, but what a clash it will be when James Stephens takes on Westmeath Champions Raharney tomorrow in the Leinster Intermediate Camogie championship.

We will also be getting reports in from Myshalls clash with Naas in the same competition with throw-in times both at half-one.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored on his return for Manchester United as they beat Sheriff Tiraspol 3-nil and kept alive hopes of finishing top of their Europa League group.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta admits his side were “extremely poor” in last night’s 2-nil Europa League defeat to PSV Eindhoven.

They missed the chance to seal the top spot in their group – and might need a play-off to reach the last 16.

Cricket

There was no play at the MCG in Melbourne this morning due to persistent rain in Ireland’s clash with Afghanistan.

We bring the rain everywhere with us!

The points will now be shared – with Ireland up to second in Group One ahead of Monday’s meeting with Australia.
