This Sunday KCLR head to Croke Park once again, this time for the Leinster Final between Kilkenny and Galway.

Of course, it pits former teammates Derek Lyng and Henry Shefflin against each other, with both managers trying to win their first piece of silverware with each county

Speaking to KCLR about the encounter, former Kilkenny star Michael Fennelly says both managers need to win the Bob O’Keeffe Cup

That game will be brought to you with thanks to Laharts with analysis thanks to Gerry Comerford Drilling

We have two other live games coming your way this weekend, well one for definite anyway.

While Kilkenny goes head to head with Wexford Saturday at 6 pm, there is concern about Carlows Tailteann Cup fixture against New York this Saturday

Hundreds of wildfires burning across the western provinces of Quebec have caused numerous flights to be delayed and halted in the Big Apple

So we will keep you updated on that one throughout the next couple of days.

Check out this almost unbelievable time-lapse of wildfire smoke consuming the World Trade Center and the New York City skyline.

Those vulnerable to poor air quality, including seniors and young children, should limit time outdoors if possible.

Booters are on course for a treble after winning the KCLR MCalmont Cup and the Pat Maher Shield, beating Bridge 3-1 en route to both titles.

West Ham United have won their first major trophy since 1980.

They beat Fiorentina 2-1 in the Europa Conference League final in Prague last night.

Jarrod Bowen scored the winner in the 90th minute. It’s a first trophy of David Moyes’ managerial career. West Ham now qualify for next season’s Europa League.

🚨 BREAKING — Lionel Messi: “I’m gonna join Inter Miami. The decision is 100% confirmed”. pic.twitter.com/rm5R4TGFSM

— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) June 7, 2023

Lionel Messi is moving to the USA.

Argentina’s World Cup winner will be joining Inter Miami, as opposed to Barcelona or a move to Saudi Arabia.

Golf

Rory McIlroy has accepted the shock new agreement between the PGA Tour, DP World Tour and Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia over the future of professional golf.

The County Down star defends his title at the Canadian Open later. Shane Lowry and David Carey are also in the field.

McIlroy doesn’t want the breakaway LIV tour to be part of the new future of the sport, despite that being supported by the Saudi P-I-F.

Rory McIlroy…
-endlessly defended PGA Tour
-turned down reportedly $500M
-sidelined during the negotiation

…“All I’ve wanted is to protect the future of the PGA Tour and I hope that this does that.”
