GAA

What a day we have lined up for you this Saturday, as KCLR Scoreline are asking you to follow us up to Carlow this Saturday bringing you a special All Ireland preview show live from Reddys Carlow from 2pm.

We then switch over to Netwatch Cullen Park at half-four with pre-match analysis from none other than Carlow legend Edward Coady.

Before getting into the Prelim All Ireland clash between Dublin and Carlow.

Carlow and Dublin last met in the championship in 2019 when Dublin won by 2-22 to 1-13 in the Leinster “round robin’. Prior to that, they hadn’t met in the championship since 2000. and speaking to Captain Paul Doyle, said Tom Mullallys men are going to have to be at their absolute best to come away with a win

Keeping with Carlow, tonight they host their Football League Division 4 FINAL

McGrath Park, Bagenalstown is the location for the 8 o’clock clash of Ballinabranna and Eire Og.

Kilkenny’s Walter Walsh was named the first KCLR Electric Player of the Week for the summer.

A new initiative, the KCLR Electric Player of the Week recognises local sporting legends who’ve buried the ball in the back of the net, ran for gold or simply excelled in their field. Every week we’ll see one local person in Carlow or Kilkenny win the coveted crown.

To be in with a chance of winning €100 in cash, you need to get to the KCLR Facebook page before Thursday evening and look for the KCLR Electric Player of the Week’s winner post and follow the details to enter the draw.

SOCCER

Carlow’s Kennedy Shield Quarter Final against Inish-owen went to penalties yesterday.

It was one-all at full time but they lost 6-5 in the shoot-out so are out of the running for a trophy.

Kilkenny went 3-1 in the Kennedy Cup quarter-final against Galway, however, the Connacht side ended up drawing the game in dramatic fashion before advancing to the Semi-final on penalties.

Kilkenny still has a chance of some silverware, when they take on Cork today in the Plate semi-final.

Fixtures for the next Premier League season will be revealed today as clubs continue their preparations for the new campaign.

Newly promoted Luton find out who they’ll play in their first ever Premier League match, while there’ll also be excitement for Burnley and Sheffield United fans following their return to the top flight.

The new season will begin on August 12th.

England midfielder Jude Bellingham will be unveiled as a Real Madrid player today.

His transfer from Borussia Dortmund – which could be worth up to 115-million-pounds – was completed yesterday.

Leeds could soon have the financial backing of golfers Rickie Fowler, Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth.

Fowler says they’re looking at “potentially” being involved with the 49ers Enterprises, after the American group agreed terms to take full control at Elland Road.

Win a Lawnmower – Day 4

All this week in with thanks to the team at Carlow Lawnmowers and to celebrate Father’s Day this coming weekend we are giving you the chance to win a brand new lawnmower. Worth almost €600, you’ll have your lawn under control in no time, better again if you need the home pitch cut in the summer weather.

If you can identify today’s sporting father you could be in the pot for the big draw on Scoreline this coming Saturday.

This Wexford camogie star played against Kilkenny last weekend while her father Captained Wexford to the All-Ireland in 1996? Her first name is Ciara who is he?
