Cycling

Mia Griffin is fairly tired after five days of racing at Rás Na mBan, she had won two stages in the event and there was high hopes that she may get a podium finish but she had a bad crash on the last stage to banish those hopes. Speaking to Full-Time last night she was at home resting “I have some swelling on my right hip and I’ll probably have to get that seen to”

“The first stage in Callan was a fast stage on a really hot day and I know all them roads really well and they were so grippy, I knew if I came around the bend first there was a good chance of me winning the race. In Tramore I train a lot on the coast road because it’s quite close because I’m living in the South of Kilkenny so I’d be close to the Waterford roads as well so I knew the coast road like the back of my hand and having that local knowledge is good in a cycling race”
