Camogie

Denise Gaule picked up Kilkenny’s only All-Star on Saturday night at the PWC All-Star awards in Croke Park. It is the Windgap players 7th award in total and her sixth in a row. All-Ireland Champions Cork got eight, runners up Waterford got three, Tipperary got two and Galway got one.

Waterford’s Beth Carton won the Senior Player Of The Year, the De La Salle player was voted top player by her peers.

There were mixed fortunes over the weekend for Kilkenny and Carlow teams in the Leinster camogie championship.

Dicksboro overcame St Martin’s on a scoreline of 1-10 to 0-08 to advance to the senior decider later this month where they will face Dublin side St Vincent’s in Netwatch Cullen Park. Jenny Clifford got the all important goal two mins into the second half which proved to be pivotal in the Boro’s win.

Rower Inistioge lost to O’Moores of Laoi by four points on Saturday afternoon. Back-To-Back games going to Extra-Time proved just too much for the Kilkenny team as they just fell short to a very good team from O’Moores.
Myshall fell to Na Fianna in the other semi-final as last year’s Leinster runners up had a chance to get to the final but just fell short after an 0-11 to 0-8 defeat.

Ladies Football

St Brigid’s are out of the Leinster Junior club ladies football championship following a defeat to Gusserane in Saturday’s semi-final.

The Wexford champions were 2-13 to 1-03 winners over the Carlow intermediate champions.

All set to go here in @GORahillys in the @LeinsterLGFA Junior Leinster semi-final between @gusseraneLGFA Wexford and St. Brigid’s Carlow!

Tullow claimed a losing bonus point against Seapoint in Division 1A of the Leinster League yesterday.

Meanwhile in Division 1B, Boyne defeated Kilkenny, and Carlow and Dundalk could not be separated in their draw.

Soccer

Evergreen were 3-0 winners over Bagenalstown in the FAI Junior Cup yesterday, while Gorey Rangers defeated Freebooters on Saturday.

North End United dumped Crettyard United out of the competition with a penalty shootout victory.
