Hurling
The Allianz National Hurling League takes a break this weekend.
Kilkenny will be in action again on Sunday, February 25th when they play host to Offaly, while Carlow are away to Laois a day earlier.
Both of those games will be live on KCLR.
With no games to speak about, The Kilkenny Hurling Podcast decided to do a special sit-down interview with eight-time All-Ireland winner Michael Fennelly this week.
The Kilkenny and Shamrocks legend is the Performance Lead with Kilkenny GAA and is tasked with improving the underage structures within the county.
He admitted that the lack of success at the underage level for Kilkenny has been worrying but that new ideas can improve performances and results.
Swimming
Maria Godden returned to the pool this morning in the 50 metres backstroke event at the World Championships in Doha.
Maria touched second in her heat in 29.13 and was 26th overall.
The Kilkenny swimmer agonisingly missed out on a place in the 100 metres backstroke semi-final on Monday by 0.2 of a second.
She is in action again on Friday morning in the 200 metres backstroke event.
Soccer
The Pat Whitty Trophy Final takes place tonight.
Carlow makes the trip to Ferrycarraig Park to face Wexford in the decider.
Kick-off is set for 8 o’clock.
Manchester City scored in stoppage time of each half to wrestle control of their Champions League last-16 tie with Copenhagen.
Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden were the men to profit from injury time, as City ran out 3-1 winners in the Danish capital.
Also last night, a magical solo effort from Brahim Diaz was enough to give Real Madrid a 1-nil win at R-B Leipzig.
The second legs of both ties will be played three weeks from tonight.
There are two more first legs tonight, with Lazio welcoming Bayern Munich to the Stadio Olimpico.
RUGBY
