Trainer Jessica Harrington has entered Quar Shamar and Bold Discovery for Saturday’s Tattersalls Irish 2,000 Guineas at the Curragh.

Her stable jockey is Kilkenny’s Shane Foley who spoke about both intended runners and first about Quar Shamar.

“It is a big step up for him, to go from Maiden to Group 1, but he is a horse that has been pleasing us.”

There’s a seven-race card at Limerick this evening, with the first off at 5.30.

The Cup final is tonight in Fenagh, with a repeat of last year’s final as St. Mullins takes on Bagnelstown Geals.

Last year Captain Michael Walsh lifted the Bolger Cup after St. Mullins bested Bagenalstown Gaels 2-16 to 1-14.

The shield will be contested on Sunday with St. Mullins going up against Mount Leinster Rangers.

Also, one to keep an eye out for next Sunday is the clash between Kilkenny and Carlow

Just three days away from the Leinster LGFA Junior final between both counties O’Moore Park Portlaoise.

Dublin and Kildare will meet in the Electric Ireland Leinster Minor football final for the second year running.

Two goals apiece from Harry Curley and Paddy Curry saw defending champions Dublin thrash Offaly 6-15 to 1-8 in their semi-final in Tullamore.

Four Joey Cunningham points helped Kildare edge out Meath 13 points to 12 at Hawkfield.

Brighton have guaranteed themselves Europa League football for next season after holding champions Manchester City to a 1-1 draw in the Premier League last night.
