It is another action-packed weekend of hurling on KCLR as our Scoreline Sports team brings you four live match commentaries

On Sunday of course we will bring you the intermediate semi-finals

First up Thomastown takes on Dunamaggin from 1 pm with that coverage brought to you with thanks to Tracey’s home value.

Following that Lisdowney does battle with Mooncoin from 3 o’clock with both those games being played in UPMC Nowlan Park

Tomorrow coverage and analysis start at 2 p.m. as Windgap and Piltown do battle in the Kilkenny Junior Hurling Championship quarter-final. Brought to you with thanks to Saunders Electrical.

And then at 3:30 p.m, live from Freshford Erins Own and Danesfort battle out to retain their senior status in the relegation final

Shinty

Speaking of pride, two Kilkenny and Carlow hurlers will represent Ireland on the international stage

Mount Leinster Rangers star Chris Nolan and Tullaroans Padraig Walsh have been named on the squad for the Hurling/ Shinty international against Scotland on Saturday, 21st October at Páirc Esler in Newry.

8-time All Ireland winner with the Cats Michael Kavanagh joins the backroom team of Damian Colemans’ side.

Camogie

Myshall Camogie Club goes up against Naomh Brid in the AZAP PRINT SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL this Sunday

Myshall also contested the Junior Final against Burren Rangers on the same day

In Kilkenny this weekend it’s all about the Michael Lyng Motors Hyundai Senior Camogie Championship quarters finals

It all starts with Dicksboro vs. St Brigids from 3:30 in Jenkinstown


Soccer

Evan Ferguson was a second-half substitute for Brighton in the Europa League last night.

The Seagulls played out a 2-all draw with Marseille in Group B.

Elsewhere, Liverpool’s promising start in Group E continued with a 2-nil win over Union S-G of Belgium.

West Ham are top of Group A after a 2-1 win over SC Freiburg in Germany.

Locally its mostly all about league action in the Kilkenny and Carlow district league

The big one on Sunday at 11 is the two Barrowside powerhouses facing off on the Burring Road as New Oak takes on Crettyard United

We are just as spoiled on the Kilkenny side. 11 o’clock. Kells Road. Evergreen versus freebooters….need I say more?

Callan United also takes on Greystones in the FAI Junior Cup on Sunday from 2 p.m.

Rugby

New Zealand are through to the World Cup quarter-finals.

Ian Foster’s side ran in 11 tries in a 73-nil hammering of Uruguay last night.

The Pool A schedule concludes tonight, with France up against Italy in Lyon. A win for the hosts will see them through to the knockout phase as Pool winners.

Golf

Kilkenny’s Mark Power resumes six shots adrift of the lead on day two of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
