Its the knockout stages of the Carlow Football Championship
KCLR will be broadcasting the two-quarter finals from the senior championship. Mount Leinster Rangers face off with Eire Og on Sunday at half-four in Netwatch Cullen Park, before that Bagenalstown Gaels clash with old Leighlin at 3. Both those games are brought to you with thanks to Dan Morrissey & Co.
Saturday brings with it the Talbot Hotel Intermediate Football Championship Knockout Stages Ballinabranna play Grange at 3:30 pm while St Patrick’s face off with Kildavin/Clonegal.
While tonight the Carlow Junior Football Championship enters the Knockout stages tonight Ballon takes on O’Hanrahans at seven while Leighlin Bridge plays St. Mullins at half 8.
All those games go ahead in Netwatch Cullen Park.
Hurling
The Michael Lyng Motors Hyundai Kilkenny Intermediate Hurling Championship also begins this weekend, with five games being brought to you on KCLR
The first game on Saturday sees Rower Inistioge face Young Irelands at half past 2 in St John’s Park That game will be live on KCLR with that to Gowran Park Golf Course.
Then at 5 pm, Conahy Shamrocks go up against O’Loughlin Gaels in Freshford while Mooncoin face Blacks and Whites in Thomastown with that game live on KCLR
At 5 p.m. on Sunday, we’ll be back in St John’s Park for the meeting of Carrickshock and Fenians. Before that, we’ll be in UPMC Nowlan Park for the shield final between St Martin’s and Dunnamaggin from half past 12 brought to you with thanks to Abbey Interiors Kilkenny before Thomastown and Lisdowney go head-to-head in the league final at quarter to 3.
Camogie
Business is starting to pick up in this year’s Kilkenny Camogie club championship.
Dicksboro takes on Windgap at 4.30 pm Saturday in Tullaroan while James Stephens plays Piltown at 4.15 pm Saturday in Danesfort in the Michael Lyng Motors Hyundai Senior League semi-finals.

Soccer
It’s a big weekend for local soccer with the LFA O’Neills Junior Cup going ahead.
13 Kilkenny and Carlow teams face off with teams from across the Leinster. The only local teams facing off against each other sees Castlewarren Celtic taking on Thomastown at 11 in United Park on Sunday.
Evergreen and New Oak meanwhile are in the LFA Senior Cup. Evergreen welcomes Trim Celtic to the Kells Road while New Oak travels to face off with Clara.
Then in domestic competition, two games in the KCLR-sponsored Carlow Plate Burrin Celtic play Athy on Saturday while Nurney Villa welcomes St. Fiaccs on Sunday.

Rugby
It’s two wins out of two for France at the World Cup.
They beat Uruguay by 27 points to 12 in Pool A last night.
In the same Pool, New Zealand plays Namibia in Toulouse tonight. Kick-off is at 8 pm.
Ireland will hold their captain’s run as they continue their preparations for tomorrow’s game with Tonga in Nantes. Dan Sheehan won’t be involved tomorrow but will be available for selection for the South Africa game next week.
Captain Jonathan Sexton will start for Ireland as Andy Farrell has made four changes in total from the win over Romania – Mack Hansen, Conor Murray, Ronan Kelleher, and Josh van der Flier come back into the side.
Dave Kilcoyne, Robbie Henshaw, Ross Byrne and Craig Casey are among the replacements.
