GAA

We have three live games on KCLR this weekend.

First up, the JJ Kavanagh and Sons Kilkenny Under 21 A Hurling Championship semi-final between James Stephens and Thomastown kicks off at 1:30 pm in the James Stephens GAA Grounds.

Following that, the AIB All-Ireland Club Senior Camogie Championship semi-final features Dicksboro facing off against Loughgiel Shamrocks at 2 pm in the Donaghmore Ashbourne GAA Grounds

Sponsored by Hacketts, with both teams aiming for a coveted spot in the championship final.

The excitement doesn’t stop there, as the AIB Leinster Club Senior Hurling Championship final takes center stage at 4:05 pm in Croke Park. O’Loughlin Gaels and Na Fianna will battle it out for glory in a match sponsored by Zurich Farm Insurance, Kilkenny.

With the prestigious title on the line, expect a fierce and compelling showdown between these elite hurling teams.

Lets have a listen back as O’Loughlins claimed their second ever Leinster title in 2011

In Carlow coming up in the Stryve U20 Football Championship ‘A’ Group 2, catch Clonmore/Grange vs St Patrick’s in grange and Mt Leinster Rangers vs Rathvilly/Rathbhile at Pairc Naomh Moling starting at 8:00 PM.

Camogie

Tonight, the KCLR Camán Caint Awards reveal the standout players in Kilkenny camogie. The Team of the Year and Player of the Year awards for junior, intermediate, and senior levels will be announced at O’Loughlins from 7:30 pm.

Join the celebration as the best in Kilkenny camogie are recognized for their exceptional contributions during the recently concluded club championships. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting event.

Soccer

Caoimhin Kelleher had a comfortable night as Liverpool beat LASK 4-nil at Anfield to qualify for the knockout stage of the Europa League as Group E winners.

Cody Gakpo scored twice in the victory.

West Ham and Brighton are also through. The Hammers were 1-nil winners away to TSC in Serbia and Brighton beat AEK Athens by the same scoreline in Greece.

Rangers were held to a 1-1 draw by Aris Limassol, so they still have work to do to qualify.

In the Junior St Canices Credit Union Premier Division tonight, it’s Freebooters A versus Deen Celtic at 8:00 PM.

Golf

At the Australian Open in Sydney, Mark Power is currently 4 under par, six shots behind leader Min Woo Lee.

The Kilkenny man had six birdies in his round at The Lakes Golf Club yesterday

Tiger Woods hit a 3 over par opening round of 75 at the Hero World Challenge to lie 8 shots behind joint leaders Brian Harman and Tony Finau.

It was the 15 time major winner’s first competitive round since April
