Scoreline Morning Report on KCLR

Hurling

It’s a huge weekend on KCLR with the Kilkenny senior and intermediate hurling leagues and the Carlow senior and intermediate football championships coming to a head.

On Saturday at half past 1, we’ll be live in John Locke Park in Callan for the meeting of Ballyhale Shamrocks and James Stephens with thanks to Gerry Comerford Drilling Limited. Both teams can still secure a top-two position but a defeat could see them end up in a relegation semi-final.

With the other five games thrown in at the same time, we’ll have reporters at every other match.

One of those games sees the bottom of the table Danesfort face O’Loughlin Gaels. Danesfort manager Willie Coogan stressed the importance of his entire panel ahead of the start of the championship.

We’ll also be at all six intermediate games on Sunday with places up for grabs for all the teams.

Get up to date with The Kilkenny Hurling Podcast.

Each week Robbie Dowling and former Blacks and Whites manager Eddie Scally cast their eye over all the action from the weekend’s senior, intermediate, and junior league and championship games as well as looking ahead to the next round of action.

Gaelic Football

It’s also the final weekend of action in the group stages of the Michael Lyng Motors Hyundai Carlow Senior Football Championship.

At 5 o’clock on Saturday, we’ll be in Netwatch Cullen Park for Mount Leinster Rangers’ clash with Bagenalstown Gaels, while we’ll have reports from the Training Centre in Fenagh where Tinryland take on Fenagh.

Then on Sunday, we’ll have live commentary of Palatine versus Eire Og and reports from Old Leighlin and Rathvilly. Those games are with thanks to Dan Morrissey and Co.

Jack O’Connor has been handed a new two-year term to manage the Kerry senior football team.

He is in his third spell in charge, with the Kingdom winning the Sam Maguire Cup last year and narrowly losing this year’s final to Dublin.
