Mary Immaculate College Limerick advances to the Electric Ireland Fitzgibbon Cup final with an impressive win over SETU Waterford in Mallow on Wednesday evening, securing a 2-18 to 2-12 victory.

Glenmore’s Ian Byrne and the University of Limerick have the chance to make history by becoming the first team since UCC in 1998 to secure three consecutive Fitzgibbon Cup titles.

Their path to the final was sealed with a hard-fought victory over University of Galway, their familiar adversary in the last two finals.

Despite a stellar performance from the University of Galway, Killian Sampson’s late effort secured the University of Limerick’s place in the final with a narrow 1-18 to 0-20 win.

While elsewhere, the public has voted Kilkenny’s Adrian Mullen this week’s GAA Hurler of the Week.

The shamrocks player scored 5 points and was awarded man of the match for his performance against Cork last Saturday night

At the Parc des Princes, Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring in a 2-nil defeat of Real Sociedad.
