Big one tonight on the soccer front as Kilkenny and Carlow’s inter-county sides clash tonight at Killeshin in the Oscar Traynor.
Both sides are in search of their first win in the competition, Carlow kicked off with a draw against Kildare, while Kilkenny is seeking redemption after a 3-2 defeat to Wexford. Kick-off is set for 8 pm.
The last time these two sides met in the Oscar Traynor was when Carlow & District League became All Ireland Champions for the first time in 2018 after a 2-1 win over Kilkenny & District League.

Stephen Kenny will be hoping for good news on the injury front today.
The Republic of Ireland squad is preparing for Saturday’s Euro qualifier away to the Netherlands, but concerns remain over several front-line players.

The Under 19’s begin their Euro campaign today away to Albania.

There is double the hurling excitement at Dublin City University Sportsgrounds with a double-header.
First on the agenda is the Fresher Hurling League Division 2 Knockout clash between DCU and SETU Carlow.
At the same time, the Senior Hurlers are out with DCU and SETU Carlow going head to head in the League Division 1 Group C.
Both games throw-in at 8 o’clock.
Elsewhere at an earlier time of 3 pm. St. Kieran’s College and Good Counsel College New Ross are set to renew their rivalry in some senior hurling action

GOLF
Ireland’s Rory McIlroy has resigned from the board of the PGA Tour.
Commissioner Jay Monahan says that the four-time major winner will step down to ‘focus on his game and his family’.
McIlroy has been an outspoken critic of the breakaway LIV golf Tour – which is backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund.
Five months ago, the PGA Tour announced there would be a merger between the PGA Tour, the DP World Tour and the P-I-F to unite the game of golf.
