Hurling

Its a double header of live sport on KCLR this weekend.

Kilkenny plays Wexford under lights Saturday night on KCLR from 6 Saturday night

Before on Sunday Ballyhale Shamrocks are out for a ninth All-Ireland Hurling Senior Club Championship title when they take on five-time finalists Dunloy of Antrim.

Speaking to scoreline ahead of the game, two-time intercounty All Ireland winner Joey Holden believes Dunloys underdog tag won’t bother the Shamrocks one bit.

You can hear that full interview on Socreline tomorrow while the game takes place in Croke Park this Sunday and has a one thirty throw in.

Jon Nolan may be upset with his brother Chris Nolan who hit a late equalizing point for SETU Carlow against Mary immaculate last night in the Fitzgibbon Cup

The two Mount Leinster Rangers players represented opposite sides in the encounter which ended 1-16 apiece

While in the Sigerson Cup, two goals from Eoin Hackett of Louth help secure the victory for the footballers against Munter Technological University Kerry.

Soccer

Manchester United’s run of nine wins in a row in all competitions is over.

Michael Olise scored an injury-time free kick as Crystal Palace earned a 1-1 draw against United in the Premier League at Selhurst Park. Casemiro received a yellow card which means he is suspended for Sunday’s showdown at Arsenal.

Tonight, Manchester City host Tottenham.

Kick-off at the Etihad Stadium is at 8 pm.

A win will send City within 5 points of leaders Arsenal.

Leeds United are into the fourth round of the FA Cup – they beat Cardiff City 5-2 last night.


Tennis

It could be another late night in Melbourne at the Australian Open for Andy Murray.

After his five-set first-round victory, he’s in the last match at the Margaret Court Arena, taking on the Aussie, Thanasi Kokkinakis.

Nine-time champion Novak Djokovic is also in second-round action this morning as he goes up against French qualifier Enzo Couacaud.

Second seed Casper Ruud is out – he was beaten in four sets by Jenson Brooksby.

Women’s second seed Ons Jabeur faces Marketa Vondrousova .

GOLF

Shane Lowry and Seamus Power have both made excellent starts to the Abu Dhabi Championship on the DP World Tour.

The pair are both 5 under par – Lowry with one hole to play and Power with three holes to go.

The lead is shared on 7 under by Italian Guido Migliozzi and Australian Jason Scrivener. Tom McKibbin is level-par at the turn. Padraig Harrington tees off just after 8 am.

On the PGA Tour later, Masters winner Scottie Scheffler and Spain’s Jon Rahm are in the field for the American Express tournament in California.

And Leona Maguire competes in the Tournament of Champions on the LPGA Tour in Florida.

RUGBY

Ross Byrne is expected to be one of four out-halves named by Ireland coach Andy Farrell for the Six Nations Championship when the squad is announced this morning.

Byrne’s Leinster team-mate Jamie Osborne and Munster’s Gavin Coombes are also hoping to be included.
