Slieverue’s Craig Breen got his first full-time season of the World Rally Championships off to a flyer on Sunday.
Breen and co-driver Paul Nagle finished third to claim a podium place at Monte Carlo with new teammate and nine-time world champion Sebastian Loeb taking the top spot.
Craig’s Ford M-Sport team-mate Gus Greensmith was fifth.
47-year-old Loeb, who won his first world rally since 2018, was making his debut for Ford and racing for the first time with 50-year-old co-driver Isabelle Galmiche.
Sebastien Ogier led most of the event but lost over thirty seconds with a puncture on stage 16 which opened the space for Loeb.
The next event is Rally Sweden on 24-27 February.
WHAT A DAY! 🥳🥳🥳
