Declan Laffan backs his team ahead of Leinster final showdown
Tomorrow sees the 2 in a row Laois champions take on the kings of the Marble City, Ballyhale Shamrocks.
Their manager is optimistic that his lads are well primed for the task ahead.
“We feel we’re a good side. We’ve won games leading from the front and we’ve won games coming from behind.”
Laffan feels that his side are sometimes underestimated because the thriving club scene in Laois hasn’t translated into inter county success.
“Unfortunately for them as a county, they’ve struggled but the top 5 or 6 teams in Laois are really, really strong teams and it’s a really competitive championship up here for them.”
The Tipperary man says his players are relishing the opportunity to play at headquarters.
“It’s massive for our lads, only a couple of them have been there before. It’s a new experience but one that I think they are well prepared for.”
Although Clough/Ballacolla won’t be under the same pressure as Shamrocks going into this Leinster tie, they still feel they have a point to prove.
“We want to go and give an account of ourselves and show what we’re about and hopefully that’s what we’ll do”
The game will throw in at 1.15pm tomorrow at Croke Park Stadium
