The SPAR FAI Primary School 5s programme for 2016 came to a pulsating conclusion in the Aviva Stadium, Dublin yesterday afternoon.

St. Fiacc’s NS Graiguecullen, Carlow took the Girls ‘C’ Cup title with maximum points from their three games to finish three points ahead of Scoil Chaitríona, Renmore, Galway.

Girls ‘C’ Schools Cup:

Winner:                 St. Fiacc’s NS, Graiguecullen, Carlow (Leinster)

Runner Up:          Scoil Chaitríona, Renmore, Galway (Connacht)

Third:                     Scoil Íosagáín, Buncrana, Inishowen (Ulster)

Fourth:                  Scoil Niocláis, Frankfield, Cork (Munster)

Player of the Tournament: Emilia Koziel, Scoil Chaitríona, Renmore, Galway

St Fiacc’s proved the stronger side and ran out comfortable 5-0 winners over out of luck Scoil Chaitriona with the goals coming from Kate McDonald (2), Kelly O’Neill, Grace Cullen and Emma Walker.

St. Fiacc’s win guarantees them the Girls ‘C’ Cup honours with a game still to play. Scoil Iosagain went ahead through a Jodie Loughrey early goal but the Carlow side responded in fine style to power in front with two goals from Emma Walker and one from Kelly O’Neill to claim all three points.

Girls ‘C’ Cup winners St. Fiacc’s completed a successful tournament with a 2-1 win over Scoil Nioclais to finish up with full points from their three games.  Emma Walker and Kelly O’Neill got their goals scoring one in each half while Katie McCarthy replied for St. Nioclais.
