St Laurence O’Toole’s and Kilkenny City Harriers athletes medal at National Junior & U23 Indoor Championships

Carlow and Kilkenny's athletes took home seven medals between them at the National Junior & U23 Indoor Championships in Athlone at the weekend.

Carlow and Kilkenny’s athletes took home seven medals between them at the National Junior & U23 Indoor Championships in Athlone at the weekend.

For St Laurence O’Tooles in Carlow, Sive O’Toole took the silver in the U23 60m final.

Aaron Shorten managed third place in the men’s 800m with a time of 1.54.09 while Ciara Moore finished second in the shot putt.

Matthew Callinan Keenan finished first in the indoor pole vault in a championship best performance of 4.65m beating the previous record which stood from 2013.

Then Kiana Nolan got silver in the U23 weight for distance with a new PB of 6.19m

And Adam Nolan came home first in the junior men’s 60m hurdles with a PB of 8.04, check out the race below.

Meanwhile, Kilkenny City Harriers’ Cathal O Reilly came third in the 1,500m junior championship.
