St. Senan’s Athletic Club Chairperson Perri Williams says that Sunday’s open Cross-Country even in Kilmacow is a perfect indication as to where Athletes fitness levels are at ahead of the upcoming County Championships.

Speaking to KCLR, Perri says that the race on Sunday will show how Athletes training has gone.

“Doing Cross-Country allows you to run on grass, softer ground, get in those challenging hills which obviously is increasing arm and leg strength.

“You are getting a chance to just try yourself out and test yourself to see what sort of fitness level you have.

“In most of the time in training, your coach will keep an eye on you and they will have a very good idea as to this guy is running well or this girl is running well, but the actual race itself will just kind of seal that for them, that yeah I was right, training is going well.”
