Stephen Loman is looking to make it 2-0 against SBG’s Frans Mlambo in Belfast on Saturday next.
The Philippines fighter (10-2) is riding a four win streak, having locked horns with Mlambo (5-2) on the undercard of Brave‘s first event in September 2016.
It was a unanimous decision victory for the Team Lakay on the night and since then he’s picked up a win over Mark Abelardo coupled with a first round TKO to take the vacant Bantamweight title at Brave CF 9 in November of last year.
Stepping into the cage in the SSE Arena in Belfast next weekend, he’ll become the youngest fighter from the Philippines to defend his championship in Europe.

While Mlambo looked to edge things in the early rounds of their first meeting – forcing doctors to step in an check on Loman’s nose – Loman turned things around late in round two, ultimately taking the third and securing a unanimous decision victory.
Speaking about their first exchange, Irish-based Mlambo is hopeful of righting the wrongs of Brave 1.
“I did a few things wrong in that first fight. It was a bunch of simple things, it wasn’t rocket science for me to figure out what I did wrong in that fight”, Mlambo told Farah Hannoun (via).
“Even though he fought a good fight and was smart in his gameplan, I feel like I gave it away to him. I’m just looking forward to redeeming myself. This time around I’ll have 25 minutes to win, but I want to take home the victory as soon as possible. I’m prepared to go the distance, but I’m training to not go 25 minutes.”
Loman v Mlambo 2 is the Bantamweight championship main event for Brave 13: European Evolution at the SSE Arena, Belfast on Saturday 9 June. Kilkenny’s ‘Magic’ Myles Price will face ‘Stormin’ Norman Parke in the night’s co-main event. With 14 fights on the card, gates open at 4pm with the first bout expected at 5pm.
