The first-ever draw for the GAA’s Tailteann Cup has been made and Carlow have avoided the preliminary round pairings.
With nine teams in the mix for the competition’s southern section, two preliminary fixtures were required to narrow the field. New York, added to the southern section last week, are already assured of a place in this year’s quarter-finals.
Preliminary games get underway this coming weekend with times and dates to be confirmed, with first-round games set for 28/29 May.
The first team out in each draw will have home advantage. Find out more about the competition here.
