It’s been 15 years since the Blues claimed Leinster success, and obviously, manager Peter Higgins is delighted with the win, but he also showed support for fellow Premier Division rivals Thomastown who welcome Old County to United Park in the quarter-finals next week;
“I am delighted with the result, it is tough to go up to Dublin at any stage of this competition and get a positive result. So the lads are delighted, we just have to keep ticking it over.”
“It is great to see Kilkenny teams go far in this competition. Hopefully, Thomastown do the job on Sunday (against Old County) and there will be two Kilkenny teams (in the semi-final), which will be nice.”
