The Knock On Season Two

While local sides have a break this weekend, The Knock On rugby podcast continues this week with a roundup of the latest from Kilkenny, Carlow and Tullow rugby clubs.

This week, Stephen, Paddy, Tom and James will take a look at the Tullow Ladies win in the Division 1 cup as they beat Mullingar 60-7 to progress to the round-robin phase – the ultimate prize on offer being a trip to the senior ranks and AIL rugby. They also have the small challenge of looking to retain the Paul Flood cup when the competition resumes in a few weeks. Kilkenny Women were also in action against South East Lions.

In the men’s Leinster League, Tullow’s J1’s lost out last week to Seapoint in a 27-20 reverse while Kilkenny, down in the ranks through injury again, slipped to Boyne in Division 1B 40-31. There was better news for Carlow though who beat Dundalk 46-29 in a bruising encounter, helping sustain momentum for the Oak Park side still keen on securing promotion to junior rugby’s top tier.
