Pat Smullen has died at the age of 43.
Smullen was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in March of 2018 and passed away this evening at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Dublin. He bravely continued to ride
As a was nine-time flat racing Irish Champion Jockey and twelve time European Classic winner, Smullen was keen to continute riding and did so until only last year.
Undoubtedly one of the highlight’s of his glittering career was a Derby double aboard Harzand back in 2016 Investec Derby at Epsom.
He will be sorely missed
