Having seen off Laois with ease last weekend, Kilkenny’s next test in the Allianz Hurling League comes against in-form Dublin.
It’s the early evening game on Saturday, meaning a quick turnaround for Brian Cody’s men.
While he thinks Kilkenny is taking the league seriously as a competition, eight-time All-Ireland winner Eddie Brennan reckons that with the Championship almost around the corner, it’s as good a time as any to cement new partnerships within the Kilkenny side.
“The Championship is so close now, it is definitely an opportunity to try a few guys and give them some prolonged game time. There will always be pressure with Brian Cody, he will expect high standards of the guys.”
“Take Mikey Carey, Niall Brassil, David Blanchfield, and the backs. They are spending more time together, so they will have a better understanding of each other’s play. Hopefully, that will build some confidence as there is a huge test awaiting them Saturday night ( vs Dublin).”
