Thomastown United manager Stephen Walsh says that both Evergreen and Sheriff are evenly matched ahead of Saturday’s FAI Junior Cup Final.
Speaking to KCLR, Walsh reckons Evergreen’s FAI Junior Cup Final appearance helps keep them out of the limelight ahead of their trip to Dundalk next Monday.
“For Junior Teams, the FAI Junior Cup is the pinnacle of games”, says Walsh.
“They are taking centre stage, their match is on Saturday, and I have no problem with that at all, it keeps us under the radar.”
“It will be a tough game. Probably the one thing Sheriff have going for them is they are used to winning – they are used to winning on the big occasion and Evergreen probably have to do it for the first time at that level. It’s tough to do that.”
“Team-wise, I don’t think there is a whole lot between them (Sheriff) and Evergreen, all they can do is go and give it everything they have and hope for the best.”
Evergreen and Sheriff meet in Dublin’s Aviva Stadium this Saturday at 6pm and we’ll have live commentary on air on KCLR and online at KCLRFanzone.com. Before then, you can win tickets to the game and be in with a shout of taking a penalty at half time all this week on KCLR Drive with Ken McGuire, 3-5.30pm.
