As the hurling championships enter round two this weekend, the Leinster football championships get underway with Carlow on the road this Sunday.
Following a comprehensive victory over Meath last weekend, Carlow will have home advantage this Saturday for their Joe McDonagh Cup second-round clash with Kerry where they’ll be looking to avenge a seven-point defeat to the Kingdom during the league campaign.
For Kilkenny, a 5-23 to 1-19 win over Westmeath at the weekend will help with scoring differences a little but Laois will be coming into Saturday evening’s second-round Leinster Senior Hurling clash with some confidence following a narrow two-point defeat to Dublin at the weekend.
Attention Sunday turns to football as Carlow head to Pairc Tailteann in Navan to take on Louth in the first round of the Leinster senior football championship.
