Ballyhale Shamrocks have advanced to the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship semi-final against St Rynaghs next weekend following a 0-22 to 0-16 victory against Mount Leinster Rangers yesterday.
Shamrocks talisman TJ Reid, who grabbed 6 points for himself, expected to be run close by the Carlow champions, despite being huge favourites going into the clash. Speaking to Scoreline he said ;
“We played St. Mullins two years ago and that was a tough battle, and we expected the same with Rangers.”
“The first half we were on top, but the wind played a hugh part. the second half we found it difficult, in the last five minutes we just found that extra space.”
“Tough battle, they hit us hard but the character was there, the spirit was there, and the hunger was there, so it was a great victory.”
Reid has just the week before got married, so the victory no doubt capped off what has been a world-wind time in the Kilkenny mans life.

The best day in my life marrying @niamhdebrunreid pic.twitter.com/SJeKYkq3Ld
“It has been a busy few weeks, very enjoyable month. Last week was about getting married, then focusing on the game. I suppose if we had lost today I would be looking back and saying the wedding was as a disaster! It is happy day, we move on to play the Offaly champions next week.”
We wish TJ, his new bride and Shamrocks all the best going forward from all of us here at scoreline.
