Tullow Rugby Club PRO John Tobin says that Kilkenny are definitely hot favorites to gain promotion to Division 1A of the Leinster League.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of Sunday’s match in the Blackgates, John says there are more expectations within Tullow after last seasons Towns Cup triumph.
“Yeah, I would actually say Kilkenny are maybe favorites for promotion this year. I know Suttonians are at the top, but Kilkenny are dominant at all areas of the game, Suttonians have weak parts so I call Kilkenny hot favorites at the minute.
Well there is an expectation at Tullow at the minute from last years Towns Cup win and a good strong League campaign last year.
Everyone is looking for more success, so I suppose after winning the cup, the next thing is to do is to go and win your League and we had a shot a 1A a couple of years ago, but I don’t think we are in as a good a place as we are now as what we were three years ago so I think it’s very important, there is a big expectation to get there so hopefully we will reach it anyway,” he said.
