Tullow Ladies played their third League Match today against Kilkenny in Foulkstown. Kilkenny dominated in the first half, scoring two tries, with one conversion. Missing a penalty, Kilkenny led 12-0 at half time.
Tullow came out strong in the second half, with all to play for. They spent a long time in the Kilkenny half until Nicola Caldbeck scored the first of her two tries converted by Catherine Dempsey. Tullow dominated then after skilful kicking and running by Dempsey, Katie O’ Brien and Farrell. This was followed by an unconverted try off the back of the scrum by Nicola Caldbeck. This made it 12-10 to Kilkenny.
Both teams fought hard until the end, with a Chloe Farrell try making it 15-12 to Tullow before the final whistle was blown.
After a tough physical game of rugby played under some very heavy rain falls Tullow walk away with the win thanks to a late try.
