Jackie Tyrrell says James Stephens are very much looking forward to be playing amongst the best when they face Ballyhale Shamrocks this Saturday afternoon.
With both camps looking to bounce back from round two defeats, the sides meet at Danesfort at 4.30pm in the third round of the St. Canice’s Credit Union Senior Hurling League.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of the game, Jackie says they are up against it with a team of a host of established stars.
“They will obviously be targeting us to win and get two points on the board”, says Tyrrell, “and the thing about Kilkenny club hurling, anyone can beat anyone on any given day”
“You see that in the results and you see that back throughout the years, so you can’t take anyone for granted.”
“With Ballyhale having a host of stars and Inter-County stars, we will be up against a big challenge the weekend, but it’s one that we are really looking forward to. You train hard and it’s for these days that you’re playing, against senior Kilkenny hurlers and All-Stars.
“You are putting yourself up against the best and our lads are looking forward to that and hopefully we will relish in that.”
With a 4.30pm throw-in, you’ll be able to get score updates from the game on Saturday Scoreline this Saturday afternoon in the wake of Carlow and Wicklow’s Christy Ring Cup semi-final at Netwatch Cullen Park.
