Un de Sceaux, ridden by Irish Champion Jockey in waiting Paul Townend has led home a 1 – 2 for trainer Willie Mullins in the Boylesports Champion Chase, the feature race on day one of the Punchestown Festival.
He pulled four lengths clear of stablemate Min and the pair came home 38 lengths clear of the remainder.
Un de Sceaux was winning the race for the second year running.
Willie Mullins says the ground yesterday was more suited to Min.
Meanwhile Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Al Boum Photo is set to go off as a co-favourite for the Coral Gold Cup at Punchestown today.
He’ll do battle with stablemate Kemboy, who got back to winning ways at Aintree.
That goes off just after six o clock, among an eight-race card at the Kildare course.
