O’Loughlin Gaels Club Chairman Brian Murphy says that Underage Hurling in Kilkenny is in a good place despite enduring a barren period at Minor and Under-21 level in recent years.
Speaking to KCLR on the Saturday Scoreline, Brian says that this years County Minor Final has given grounds for optimism.
“But as regards the standard of we will say underage hurling, we probably had probably one of the best Minor Hurling Finals this year between O’Loughlins and the Village so the standard underage is quite good”
“I mean the standard at College level, I mean Kilkenny are to the fore all the time at College level”
“Their will be talent coming through, but it’s not going to be as strong as it was there going back ten years ago where Kilkenny had some fantastic underage players coming through, so Kilkenny are in a good place as regards Underage really”
