Kilkenny hurler TJ Reid says it was very weird watching the all-stars on tv this year.

The Ballyhale Shamrocks man and his teammate Eoin Cody picked up awards on the night, TJ being named on the all-star team, and Eoin winning the “young player of the year” award.

TJ says he was honoured to get his award but says Eoin’s is great news for the county.

“It’s very positive for Kilkenny that we have an up-and-coming star coming through which is a great positive to take,” said TJ.

“It felt a bit weird watching the tv as well, I was at home on me couch (sic) and it didn’t feel real, it was like you were looking back at the all-stars maybe three or four years ago, so it was kind of a different experience but it was a nice one as well” he added.

This is TJ’s fifth time being named on the all-stars team.
