Our Kevin Regan spoke to Darragh Foley, the Kilbride man and Carlow’s senior football captain for 2016. Having kicked ball together at under age level, they chat about Foley’s rise through the ranks, the possibilities of playing soccer cross channel and more importantly, what’s to come for Carlow’s senior footballers in 2016 – first against Antrim and secondly, getting out of Division 4.

When asked about facing Antrim on Sunday, Foley says

“It’s huge, it’s the biggest game of the year for is, that’s the way we’re looking at it. It’s a home game, we want to set down our stall on Sunday. We’re under no illusions, Antrim coming down are going to be tough, Northern football, they’ve lots of good footballers too but we feel we’re more than capable of taking on these boys.

We beat them here two years ago, we drew last year so there’s no reason we can’t take them on Sunday as well and progress on throughout the year.”
