Mullinavat Chairman Bill Walsh says it’s all about progression and building on the successes and improvements of 2016.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of this weekend’s opening round clash against Erins Own of Castlecomer, Walsh says they are enthusiastic about their hopes with a young team.
“We played them [Erins Own] last year and we drew with them last year and they are tough. There are no ‘ifs’ about it, every game is tough, every team is. I would go down and say it’s probably the most even Championship.
“We are always trying to progress and we got the semi-final two years ago. We were a little bit disappointed last year, the day against Shamrocks, we didn’t perform to our ability which we thought we could do, but again look we are building on last year.
“It’s all about going forward and we are a young team and really looking forward to this year.”
Mullinavat meet Erins own on Saturday evening at 7pm in Danesfort GAA grounds.
