A well made goal is a thing of beauty.
And that’s exactly how Seani Maguire’s debut goal for Preston North End went at the weekend. Given Ireland were lacking in goal options against Georgia and Serbia, perhaps it’s worth a certain international manager taking note.

While Maguire found the back of the net, Preston couldn’t find all three points against Barnsley, the game closing out 1-1, manager Alex Neil thinking they should have gotten more from the game.
“We’ve got a young team so I expect our fitness levels to be higher, but the one thing with this group is that they give you their all every single game. They’ve run themselves into the ground and that’s what we expect. I just wish we could have tipped it off with the result they deserved.”
Regardless of the score, Irish fans will certainly be happy to see Maguire get off the mark in the Championship.
Here’s to many more.
