We are down to the Semi final stage in the Kilkenny Champion Open Unraced 525

St James Park hosts the semi final of the Champion Open unraced 525 with 12 names remaining and a prize money of €10,000.

Kilkenny Greyhound Track, St. James' Park

Great action and serious prospects are promised this Friday night at the Kilkenny greyhound stadium. Its the penultimate edition of the Kilkenny Champion Unraced.

Last weeks standouts Grangview Mac & Serene ace who both won 29.04 on the first night , won again Friday. Grange view won the first race of the night, holding off tough challenges from trap 4 Droopy Jess, Zero Gravity came third.

The second quarter was won by Serene Ace who got tied up a little coming home but still won in 29.10. Martin Sharkeys trained Get Away From Me came second with and Tom Buggy from Bagnelstown trained Carrigeen Law coming third.

Both Kevin Hennessey, who father is legendary Paul Hennessey and Kilkenny track manager Tom Kinnane were very impressed with the third quarter finalists with Kevin saying

“A real eye catcher was Ger & Sheila Duncan from Kells with a bitch called Glory Casey who got up on the line in 29.04. She could be destined to go right to the top. The semi finals promises to be great action this Friday.”

The last quarter final of the night was won by trap six, Eugene Prices Pennys Lago. She held of a late challenge from Cnoc Billy & Lemon Jade.
