Piltown Captain Katie Power believes that “having a bit of belief” was the key factor in their victory over Dicksboro to claim their first-ever Michael Lyng Motors Kilkenny Senior Camogie Championship title.
In a thrilling final at UPMC Nowlan Park, Piltown triumphed 3-11 to 0-14, making history for the club and securing a long-awaited senior title. Speaking to KCLR after the match, Power reflected on what the win meant to the team and the community.
“We believed this year we could do it. And that’s what it came down to, having a bit of belief this year,” Power said. “We’ve been there or thereabouts the last few years, but the lads instilled unbelievable belief in us, and thank God it paid off. History has been made today for the best for Piltown G.A.A. clubs.”
Fans and supporters can relive every moment of this historic match, including post-match reactions and interviews, with KCLR’s listen-back feature. For Piltown, this is just the beginning of what they hope will be an enduring legacy in Kilkenny camogie.
