Kilkenny Rugby’s James Blanchfield says the past few weeks have been very tough for the club.
The side has been relegated from Division 1A of the Leinster League and will join Carlow in Division 1B next season.
They are however in the semi-final of the Towns Cup where they’ll continue to defend their crown, they’re in action against Cill Dara on April 9th.
Speaking on The Knock On Podcast, James said it’s not about the action, it’s about the reaction…
“Yeah we want to be in (Division) 1A but you know sometimes you might have to go backwards to go forwards,” said James.
“I think we have to go into probably a period of rebuild now, It’s unsure of kind of where we are with resources for next year and some guys are talking about going to a bit of travel and other guys might retire,” he added.
