The Carlow District Football League makes its return this weekend following the winter break.

The Nationalist Premier Division kicks off the action for 2023 with two games scheduled for Friday night.

Vale Wanderers will be hoping to secure their first victory of the season when they travel to Scats Quakers Park to take on Killeshin at 8pm.

At the same time, league leaders St Patricks Boys host 2022 champions New Oak Boys in a mouth-watering tie.

There is only one game in the adult ranks on Saturday with several youths fixtures down for decision.

The Meadows will be the venue for St Patricks Boys B’s clash with Crettyard United B in the Tully’s Travel Division One.

That one kicks off at 7pm.

There are six games across Divison One and Division Two of the JF Sports Youths Leagues on Saturday.

They all have kick-off times of 2.30pm.

Burrin Celtic take on Hanover Harps Green at 2.30pm in the LFA U18 Youths Cup.

The bulk of the action takes place on Sunday.

The pick of the ties in the top-tier sees New Oak Boys go up against Vale Wanderers, while the bottom two in the first division go head-to-head at 11am in Ballitore as Mill Celtic face St Joseph’s.
