Carlow were beaten by Wexford in their game by 2-29 to 1-11 yesterday.

Carlow face Westmeath in a relegation battle next weekend and manager Colm Bonnar says that game was their priority.

He said “We knew the importance of next Sunday’s game against Westmeath, whoever wins that game stays in Division One and that’s our priority”.

“The nature of the game, it was always going to come down to possibly how we do against Laois and Westmeath, we competed well against Laois, didn’t take the result so the draw went against us in terms of home advantage”.

“We’ve to go to Mullingar to take on Westmeath in their home patch, but we had to go to offaly last year and take on them”.
