The All-Ireland senior hurling and football finals were played in December this year, but it’s been a strange year.

For 2021, with the revealing of the GAA’s split season on Monday, the senior hurling and football All-Ireland finals will be played to completion in July.

Per the GAA’s draft fixture schedule for 2021 –

  • The 2021 All-Ireland senior hurling championship final will be played the weekend of 11/12 July with the U20 hurling final booked as the curtain-raiser.
  • The 2021 All-Ireland senior football championship final will be played on 17/18 July

Both the senior hurling championship and senior football championship for 2021 will get underway on the weekend of 22/23 May for round one games.

That weekend is a busy one with the Leinster senior hurling final, Joe McDonagh Cup final, All-Ireland minor hurling and football finals, Connacht senior football final and Munster senior hurling final all set to be decided.

Club All-Ireland fixtures will reach their semi-final stages by early December with the finals of the 2021 Club All-Ireland championship slated for January 2022.

See more details on the GAA’s proposed split season for 2021.
