It’s finally here – the start of the Kilkenny senior, intermediate and junior club hurling championship.
The inter-county season is done and dusted, football is wrapped and in Kilkenny the focus is shifting to club hurling and camogie.

To help you plan the weekend ahead, here’s a look at all the games happening with 18 to choose from for the opening weekend of the club season.
St. Canice’s Credit Union Kilkenny senior hurling league round 1
Champions Shamrocks Ballyhale begin their defence on home soil this Saturday afternoon against Glenmore while last year’s intermediate champions Danesfort mark their return to the senior ranks with a trip to Dunnamaggin on Sunday to take on Mullinavat. Catch both games live on KCLR this weekend.

Michael Lyng Motors Kilkenny intermediate hurling league round 1
The Michael Lyng Motors Kilkenny intermediate hurling league gets underway with two games at 7pm on Friday but all eyes will be on the meeting of O’Loughlin Gaels and Blacks and Whites on Saturday afternoon to see how last year’s junior champions get on against the city club in Bennettsbridge.

With Blacks and Whites making the jump to the intermediate grade for 2023, last year’s beaten finalists Windgap are first out of the traps this Friday with a 7pm meeting against near rivals John Lockes, Piltown GAA playing host.
