The fine run of Castlecomer, County Kilkenny trainer Pat Murphy continued on Thursday evening at Dundalk as his four-year-old gelding No Approval made it back-to-back wins at the Louth venue in the first division of the www.dundalkstadium.com Handicap.
“We’re very happy with the last two runs here”, says Murphy. He seems to have taken to the track and we think he’s improving nicely, improving well.”
“He had a confidence issue before but he’s running more confident now and he’s travelling better into the bridle. We’ll keep having a go here. As long as they’re healthy and racing like that, we’ll keep him racing.”
Partnered to victory by exciting young apprentice rider Ben Coen, the Diane Murphy-owned runner finished strongly to double his career tally after getting off the mark at the 20th attempt here two weeks ago.
This victory meant Murphy has now won with his last four runners over the past three weeks, enjoying a real purple patch courtesy of No Approval and other leading performer Koybig.
