“You can come back too soon and have a lot of injuries” – Kilkenny manager Brian Dowling being cautious with his side

Kilkenny’s Intermediates are back out in action this weekend after their opening round against Wexford last week.

They take on Laois on Saturday in John Locke’s Park at 2 pm.

Meanwhile, the seniors have a weekend off after their win over Dublin last weekend.

The format of the group this year means that even if you top it, you might not get through to a semi-final.

Senior manager Brian Dowling says it would be nice to have more games in the league but they’re only focusing on one at a time.

“We’re not even looking at it like that, we’re just taking it game by game at the moment,” said Brian.

“I suppose that even in training, it’s kind of hard, how hard do you push the girls, we have to be very careful, we took a night off here and there just to rein the girls back in because you can come back too soon and them too much and then you have a lot of injuries, so it’s just about being cautious with the girls now” he added.

We have live commentary of Kilkenny v Laois here on Saturday.
